Topic Description
Embeddings Embeddings are a type of word representation that allows words with similar meaning to have a similar representation. They are a distributed representation for text that is perhaps one of the key breakthroughs for the impressive performance of deep learning methods on challenging natural language processing problems.
Use of Embeddings in Question Answering Systems In question answering systems, embeddings are used to understand the semantic content of the question. The system can then match this with the semantic content of potential answers. This is done by converting the words in the question and potential answers into vectors, and then comparing these vectors to find the best match.
Use of Embeddings in Dialogue Systems In dialogue systems, embeddings are used to understand the context of the conversation. The system can then generate responses that are contextually appropriate. This is done by converting the words in the conversation into vectors, and then using these vectors to generate a response that is semantically similar to the context of the conversation.
